Good morning!
I’ve discovered over time that it takes patience, and effort to learn how to hear and “consistently” obey the still small voice of God (1 Kings 19:12).
Until we become believers, we cannot help but primarily listen and follow the voice of what I refer to as the unholy trinity of Me, Myself, & I.
This terrible trio (our flesh) spend a lifetime pelting our minds with opinions, beliefs, dogmas, disciplines, and doctrines. Leading to what the Bible calls a carnal mind. This is not good since a carnal mind has and holds (enmity) hatred, animosity or hostility against God.
Romans 8:6-11 – “For to be carnally minded is death…
The Bible tells us a born-again experience will help us navigate
the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6) and must be followed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).
Who would disagree that it’s hard to know anyone well if we don’t spend decent time getting to know them? Well. that formula applies to God as.
2 Timothy 2:15 – Carefully study to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
Removing me, myself & I from behind the driver’s wheel of our lives and giving the wheel to the Holy Trinity (and Bible) is an eternally life saving measure.
Finally, with God as our guide and not the terrible trio, we can begin to better resemble the traits given in Galatians 5:22 -23.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law.
Let us strive to let God be the sole navigator of our lives!
Have a wonderful day being guided by the Lord!
